This one-day meeting was held just before the 17th Annual session fo the Commission. The objective to provide information on the proposal and align views to a common position. Side meetings were held in the morning and in the break times, as and when required to strategize on intervention and reiterating the positions.

The G16 is a group of like-minded coastal states of the Indian Ocean who has a common objective – the sustainable utilization of Indian Ocean tuna and tuna-like resources for the benefit and future of all coastal states.
